Encourage someone today. Remind them of their potential. Tell them something you appreciate about them. Share a sincere compliment with a stranger. Look at yourself in the mirror and remember that you are a somebody.

There used to be an advert on television a while ago with this guy jumping around with a phone book yelling, “The new phone book’s here, the new phone book’s here! I’m a somebody!”. I loved it. So now whenever I feel like I’ve been recognized, I say “the new phone book’s here”. I’ve started saying that to my employees when I can tell they’re proud of themselves. I try to make every day feel like new phone book day for someone. Doesn’t always work, but I try.
That’s funny! I remember being really proud to see myself in the phone book once I got my own place.
