My panic involves a son coming for a rare visit Wednesday: do I stay (relatively) relaxed, clean and prepare, and leave up the autumn decorations (my personal favorite) or give in to that panic, remove Fall and replace it with the “other” reds & greens?

Good rule! I seriously still have some stuff piled in the picture window from LAST CHRISTMAS. I think we’ll clean on Saturday and decorate on Sunday. Or not.

Absolutely! I’m trying to hold off the eager little people in my house, although I doubt I’ll be able to put off decorating past Sunday. Today, I’m marveling that we couldn’t put up decorations if we wanted to because two days of four people in this house make it looks like a natural disaster has occurred. No Christmas music until the pumpkin pie is gone.
